Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated

I haven't died or retired; I've just been very busy with work and took a two week vacation.

Regular updates will start again next week.

Lately I've been watching a lot of Food 911 and pondering the apparent sex-symbol status of the homely (to me, anyway) Tyler Florence.

I've begun a love affair with Ellie Krieger: she is what Robin "Skeletor" Miller aspires to be.

Sandra Lee continues to be downright unwatchable, even with her new intro and the segment dedicated entirely to tablescapes.

Rachael Ray moves ahead with her plan of world domination.

Paula Deen still looks tired.

Her sons' new show airs June 27.

See ya next week!

Welcome back stranger! Hope you had a lovely vacation.

I do think Tyler Florence is kinda cute, although he has gotten quite chunky lately. Not that there's anything wrong with that, hey, I am too. And besides, I don't think I could be a chef and be thin anyway. I am digging Ellie Krieger too, it's about time they put someone on there who can give some great tips and recipes for people (like me) who want to eat healthier! Listen up, FoodNetwork. I don't much care for Robin Miller. There's no way I'm going to spend my whole weekend in the kitchen preparing food for the entire next week. I mean, I dunno, maybe it really is time-saving, but I'm probably not gonna do it. I have never liked Sandra Lee, never will, they just need to take her stupid show off the air. Her type of cooking is exactly what is wrong with Americans today: too much reliance on processed foods that is so unhealthy for you. I'm sure that Paula Deen IS tired. I'm worried about her and thinking that she might be taking on too much. But I am looking so forward to the new show with her sons! I just love them, especially that foxy Bobby Deen! MmMm! :)

Welcome back!!! Missed you! I had so many rants and raves that I wanted to share, but you'd seemed to have disappeared... glad you're back!

You know, there is something strangely intoxicting about Ellie Krieger's show.... she's so laid back and friendly, which is a pleasant and much needed change from the astronomic energy of the Rachael Ray cocaine train.

As for Robin Miller, I'm not exactly sure how we're supposed to take her.... making all her meals in slow cookers while wearing velour jumpsuits and all.

I'm so glad there's someone else who doesn't understand the Tyler lust. Boy is puffy as all hell.

I love me some Tyler Florence--a little chunky? I like my man with a little meat on him. Also, NEVER trust a skinny cook...

Poor Paula, she is looking a little haggard. I've got a crush on her boys, so I can't wait to watch that.

I completely agree with you on Sandra Lee--just horrible. I used to love Rachel, but quickly grew tired of her, and then I read an article where she said she knows she can be annoying, her voice is grating, she giggles too much, etc. She totally copped to everything and said, "It's the way I am and I don't think I can change." I respected her after that. It doesn't make me want to TiVo her show--but I'll occasionally watch it and not scream at the TV: "Shut up, you freak!"

I haven't seen the Ellie Krieger show... where have I been?

Ok, so I think Tyler is hot, and so what if the man is chunky? Anyone worth their salt in the kitchen shouldn't be paper thin and translucent, we're not movie stars, we're COOKS! Besides, he's got that down-home appeal, and he can COOK! Who wouldn't like that?

Rachel Ray needs to die a quiet death, maybe locked in a room with repeated looping audio cassettes of her own voice.

Your blog is fun to read, but only because i don't have cable and don't watch FoodTV.
